PANORAMA
KOMORNIK
The Collector

Dir: Felix Falk

'Kormornik' is a moral tale about depressive people in a depressiong provincial city. Typical of the neo-relaist narrative school of Polish film-making, the production is highly professional with good quality camaera work and editing. Andrzej Chyra plays a debt collector, who prides himself on his honesty and effectiveness, who falls into a trap laid by his less than scrupulous colleagues and is accused of corruption. The film's most peculiar trait is its references to Catholicism without being clear whether this is sincere, or cynically ironic.
